Individual Psychotherapy
What to Expect in Individual Psychotherapy
Starting therapy can feel a little intimidating, especially if it’s your first time—but it’s also a powerful step toward healing, growth, and self-understanding. Individual psychotherapy is a one-on-one process between you and I, where you’ll have a safe, confidential space to explore your thoughts, emotions, experiences, and patterns. Sessions typically last around 55 minutes and are guided by your needs, goals, and pace.
In therapy, we may talk about current stressors, past experiences, relationships, identity, and anything else that feels important to your emotional well-being. There is no “right way” to show up—whether you need to cry, sit in silence, vent, reflect, or just be, you are welcome here exactly as you are.
Therapy isn’t about fixing you. It’s about getting to know yourself more deeply, uncovering insights, and learning tools that support emotional regulation, resilience, and meaningful change. You might experience relief, discomfort, clarity, or even confusion—and that’s all a natural part of the process. You don’t have to come prepared with all the answers. We’ll figure things out together. As your therapist, I am here to support you without judgment and help you create the life you want to live—on your terms, and in your time.
